In Fish Out of Water, the gameplay is casual and relaxing. But beware, it can become addictive. You start a level with a group of six colorful fishes (and sea mammals). Pick on up, and fling it as far as possible with an easy swipe. The farther it goes, and the more times it skips, the better. A panel of Crab judges will evaluate your tosses with a numerical grade.
Each fish has it’s own style with different launching and skipping capabilities. The blue whale, Micro, will fly high and give you more distance than skips. While the blowfish, Errol, will be more inclined to bounce on the sea surface but not that far.
Like the fish, each crab judge has it’s own personality. “Distance Dorothy” loves long distance throws, while “Hard to please Harwood” is critical of absolutely everything. Thankfully, “Nice Natalie” is always positive and happy to give out high scores.
Each round consists of three throws you need to make by choosing the right fish to achieve your assignment. You are given one task at any given time, aside from pleasing the crab panel. As you play, you unlock new achievements, level up and get awarded gems. Combine those gems to create charms, which will grant you super powers. Unfortunately, those gems are hard to come by. The only other way to collect them is via in-app-purchases. But they are not necessary to achieve high scores.
To spice things up a little, the weather pattern changes periodically, influencing the behavior of your fishes.
In addition to all of this, Fish Out of the Water allows you to share your scores on various social networks, brag about your achievements, and join virtual leagues.
So go ahead, and grab a copy. You’ll enjoy it!
