OK, First off, if you have an iPad go get Jump Out! HD which is free at the time of this writing and then come back.
Are you back? Alright, cool. First, I’m going to be honest. I thought I was going to hate this game. It was a free game of the day a couple of days ago and I haven’t been having the best luck those. Plus I saw the icon and it’s bad — horrible really. I started playing the first couple of levels and found that it had essentially the same game play as two other games I recently reviewed, Shark Dash and Tiny Places. You pull back on a character and then launch it forward until you get it out of the enclosure it’s stuck in. Pretty basic and familiar. But I kept going. Already, just a few levels in, there was a new character, then there was a new obstacle, and then another character, and then another obstacle. I thought to myself, “Wait, is this game good?” I kept planning and the pattern continued, new features, new elements to interact with, “Holy crap! This game is actually kinda awesome!”
Well, I’ve continued playing since then and I can say that yes, my later reaction was correct. This game is in fact awesome. It takes the game play from the earlier mentioned games and fixes the problems I had with them, which was mainly an inconsistent learning curve (Shark Dash) and a lack of good of puzzles (Tiny Places). The game is put out by Big Fish Games and Avaloid and is available for iOS devices only at the moment. But really, go get this game and give it a try for yourself it’s wonderful.
NOTE: For those playing the game, and running into some issues. I’ve been in contact with Big Fish customer service and the issues are being addressed. The game was just updated on 8/8 which took care of the occasional crashing, as well as the inability to access Advanced Mode*. Still left to be fixed are the timer being reset on the 5th set of Bonus Levels as well as the messed up Game Center scoring. All of the achievements are attainable though, so if you’re having trouble with one, leave a comment below and I’ll try to assist.
*If after the update you are still unable to access Advanced Mode, first close the app out of the multitasking bar, restart your device and then replay level 1-30. That took care of it for me.

Jump Out (iPhone/iPod touch) version is FREE for a limited time!
Thanks for the update! Great game!
